Endometriosis and Fibroids: How Antioxidants Could Change the Story

Endometriosis and fibroids affect millions of women, often causing pain, heavy bleeding, fatigue, and fertility challenges. Conventional care usually focuses on surgery or hormone therapy — but these approaches don’t always address the deeper drivers: inflammation and oxidative stress.

This is where antioxidants come in. By calming inflammation and reducing oxidative stress, they offer women a gentler, science-backed way to support the body and improve quality of life.

Why antioxidants matter

Oxidative stress happens when free radicals overwhelm the body’s defenses, fueling inflammation and tissue changes. Both endometriosis and fibroids are closely tied to this process. Antioxidants help restore balance by:

• Neutralizing free radicals.

• Calming inflammatory pathways.

• Supporting hormonal balance.

Antioxidants (from foods, plants, or targeted supplements) help restore balance by neutralizing free radicals and calming inflammatory pathways.

Green tea extract (EGCG) and fibroids

Green tea contains a powerful antioxidant called epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). In a clinical trial, women who took green tea extract for four months experienced:

• 32.6% reduction in fibroid volume

• 32.4% reduction in symptom severity

EGCG works by lowering inflammation, slowing abnormal cell growth, and reducing the blood vessel supply that fuels fibroids.

NAC: restoring balance from within

N-acetylcysteine (NAC) is another well-studied antioxidant. It acts as a precursor to glutathione — the body’s most powerful internal defense.

In clinical research, women who took 600 mg of NAC daily for three months experienced 25% reduction in fibroid volume, compared to only 1% in the placebo group.

For women with endometriosis, NAC has been linked to smaller endometriotic cysts, lower CA-125 levels, and less pelvic pain — benefits so meaningful that many could postpone or avoid surgery. Among those hoping to conceive, nearly three-quarters achieved pregnancy within six months of NAC support.

Gentle support in a bigger picture

While endometriosis and fibroids often require a comprehensive medical approach, research shows that antioxidants can become a valuable part of the bigger picture. They:

• Support the body’s natural defense systems

• Help calm inflammation and oxidative stress

• May slow abnormal tissue growth

• Contribute to greater comfort and resilience in daily life

Endometriosis and fibroids remain complex conditions, with no single solution. Yet growing research shows that antioxidants like green tea extract and NAC can make a real difference — shrinking fibroids, easing symptoms, and calming inflammation.

At AURA, we believe women deserve care that feels both gentle and grounded in science. That’s why EASE IN brings together NAC and Green Tea Leaf Extract — to help restore balance, ease discomfort, and support well-being in a natural way.
